Second round

Last night I watched Twilight for the second time. I simply had to because to be honest, I was a bit disappointed after the first time. After finishing the book I somehow expected the movie to outstand the book, on the basis of what everyone around me has told me. Nevertheless, it didn’t. At first I didn’t even think that Edward (or Robert Pattinson) was hot, and I seriously couldn’t get my head around how every girl fell head over heels after their first glance at him…

There was so much more I wanted to see in the movie. The scenes they “deleted”, the jump in between them, and the words that (mostly Edward‘s) were unsaid made me rather disappointed. It would have been even more romantic if some scenes would have been there that weren’t, but that would have made the movie too long I guess…

I don’t want to say that the book ruined my perception of the movie, but it somehow did. That was why I had to watch it again so I could make up my mind (and this is not the same as being obsessed, okay, haha…). Anyhow, with my mind focused on the positive things, like that there for instance is a Twilight movie at all, I found myself drooling for Edward before I went to bed - and that made everything much better. Haha, geez…

I still don’t know whether or not I should read New Moon before I watch the movie, though. What if it will disappoint me like the first time I watched Twilight? Or maybe…maybe I just have to watch it twice! Haha…

Talk about a baby BOOM ^^

Geez, I just read an article about a giant baby boy that was born in Indonesia, weighing 8.7 kg! They assumed that the cause of this was that the mother had diabetes. For a long time I’ve been trying to avoid sugar as much as possible for health reasons, but now I think I am going to cut it out completely because hell no I want to end up giving birth to a giant baby!

A girl can dream

I thought I was in love with sushi, ice-cream and chocolate, but after today I’m madly in love with a pair of shoes…They only cost SEK 795, not above SEK 1795 like some other shoes (that aren’t even as divine as these), and also I will get 20% off if I buy them before Sunday! I know I shouldn’t use the word only when I am still considered a poor student, and I’m also aware of the fact that mami would never pay for them - so it’s up to me. Should I buy them or should I let the heavenly beautiful creations go?

I want them so badly, but I really don’t think I afford buying these right now. My debt from summer still reminds me of the fact that I am not bringing in any cash…but as Bella said in Twilight:

A girl can dream.

Look. At. Them. - More I can't really say...

Finito with Twilight!

Yeay, now I'm finished with Twilight! It only took me seven days (compared to the maximum of two days that my friends find it possible), but now I'm finished after all. It was a good book I must admit, or maybe a bit better than good...Anyhow, I will hopefully watch the movie tonight and get a crush on Edward for real ;D

Now I have to rush, lunch with my lovely family is up next.

Plans for Thursday

I have a lot to do these four days but I’ve decided to start off light. So instead of bury myself with my loved, yet hated To Do-list, the plans of having lunch at East City with the family tomorrow, appealed me more than the first option. It’s going to be great I believe. We haven’t went out together for lunch together in several weeks, and in addition, we haven’t been to East City in like three months. So, it’s definitely time for some sushi and some general over-eating (like I haven’t had “enough of” in M’sia this summer, but regrets will come later…).

Okay, I should really get back to finishing Twilight now and try to eliminate the fact that I embarrassingly enough haven’t finished it in the six days I’ve read it so far…hehe.

Have a great evening!

Just before summer break...wish I could go back =)

Just smile

A poor little blog is the result you get when there is a lack of time and motivation for posting something. Nevertheless, now I’m back! And hopefully I will be more caring these upcoming days since I have an (well-earned) extended weekend, starting from tomorrow.

School has started getting down to business for real now and the perfectionist in me is, of course, kind of affected. However, I have learnt that the best thing to get through a tough day is to start the day off with a positive attitude and a big smile on your face, because it does help!

When ice-cream can't heal

I hate sales, but at the same time I love them. This Sunday was the first Sunday in more than six months, if I got it right, that I we all (as in mami, sis and I) went shopping together in town. It was really cozy and all of those old memories from being a little girl again popped up. Also, one of the best things when you go shopping with a parent is that they occasionally will pay for your stuff! Because they all know that students are poor creatures…which we are considering all the wants we have in today’s society…

Anyhow, after a disappointing visit to New Yorker, where I found that the bikini top on sales that I wanted to purchase yesterday (but couldn’t since I forgot my wallet at home) was finito, I had to fill my emptiness with something else. And by that I don’t mean ice-cream, because sometimes ice-cream isn’t the key to everything. Nevertheless, a cute top and some hair accessories can be…

The top is from EDC by Esprit and the hairclips from H&M

The dinner made a bit happier as well...;)

Some minutes with The Doctors

This morning, after my daily dose of The Apprentice UK, I watched some of that show that Rachael Ray has been talking about before. The Doctors I think it is called. Anyhow, I just got so amazed by the fact of how much you can learn from shows like these just in the matter of minutes.

Lesson #1. Sugar doesn’t cause hyper-activity in people. However, many people might believe it does, and to still support that fact, it is definitely certain that some people are less resistant to sugar than others, and therefore they can get very hyper in a sugar-rush (and that’s when I bring my dear friend Lewar into the picture, haha).
Lesson #2. “Reading in the dark damages your eyes”, I’ve heard so many people say to me through the years, but the truth is - it doesn’t! Our vision has to do completely with our genes and not with how light the room is. Of course it sometimes can get very tiring reading in the dark, but the reason for that is because our eyes adjust themselves according to the light. // But since I don’t want worse eyesight, I will stay on the safe side by reading with the lights on, haha…
Lesson #3. And last but not least, we all have heard or mamis nagging about not leaving the house with wet hair when it’s cold outside because then we will catch a severe cold etc. This is a myth! So it’s not true at all. What makes us catch colds are the usual: poor diet, lack of sleep, stress, and all of those other things causing a weaker immune system…

So hopefully, you people reading this have now gained some extra life knowledge that you can brag about when the occasion pops up. Now I am off to school. Have a lovely Friday!

Today's Dress-for-success: purple top from Lindex, jacket from Bondelid, the jeans I got from some Chinese woman in Stockholm =)

Ready for the Twilight disease

It’s about time people around me say, and maybe it is. Soon after this post I will step into the world surrounding one topic only - Twilight, or the Twilight disease as I would prefer to call it. My friends all have it, my sister just got even more obsessed after finishing the book, so it’s just me left then…I am the only one that has managed to avoid the “dark side”, haha. But just like the swine flu, the disease is kind of contagious…

People’s first reaction when they hear that I have never read the book nor seen the movie is like “Whaaat??? Are you kidding!? You have to! How could you not have - IMPOSSIBLE!” That is how “crazy” you become after entering the world of the Twilight (and Edward Cullen) disease…Personally I think that it must be a more serious case than to have H1N1, haha…What have I got myself in to?

But a deal is a deal, and I have to read the first book and watch the movie before I can join all my friends to the premier of New Moon on November 20...So, Twilight - bewitch me.

Bring it on! :)

Power-naps and life knowledge

The first thing I did when I got home this afternoon was to take a shower and then knock out in the couch. The other day I read an article about power-naps, and it said that 15-20 min of sleep sometime during the day only has good effects on you, so maybe I should have these knock outs more often!? Haha…Gosh, I really have no clue of what made me so tired today; all I know for sure is that it certainly wasn’t school.

We had what’s called a theme day, or temadag as it is called in Swedish. There were lectures and a movie about honor-related violence and murder which was this time’s theme. From time to time we have theme days in school; usually these days are really boring and won’t make me wiser in any way, however, today was rather interesting. I even learnt something I’ll always remember from one of the lecturers…

“If you don’t know yourself, you will never know where you are going.”

I know this is a bit irrelevant, but oh my God! - I think I just got the meaning of why Tom Hanks asked Leonardo DiCaprio in Catch Me If You Can where he was going towards the ending! For three years (?) I haven’t understood, but now I’ve solved it! What a great day…=)

I got thumbs up ;D

It feels like I will get trapped in the vicious circle of not blogging again. Very horrible, but the truth is that I just haven’t got the time to. Math, oral presentations and CAS is taking up too much of my time. Hopefully I will get time soon though, but no promises. As far as concerned, this little blog just has to endure a bit of the old and non-active Sandra. After all, I was extremely blog-active in Malaysia this summer, haha…

Okay, so I said I would post pictures of my sister and the photo shoot in Skokloster yesterday if I had the permission to. Guess what? - I got thumbs up!

When she starts looking like this it can only get better...

Which it does...

I love the cute dress she's wearing =)

As it got darker, glamour was brought into the picture...

And slowly it started to get very nude! Hahaha, NO she is not topless if you're wondering!

I so want a system camera right now!

Grrrrr…I am so jealous of the gorgeous photos that were taken of my sister from yesterday. She and her friends had a photo shoot outside in a place called Skokloster, which basically is located out in nowhere if you’re wondering. However, I won’t post any pictures now because I haven’t asked for permission yet, but it will be the first thing I’ll show tomorrow if I am allowed to. - Which I probably will be,since they are DROP-DEAD-GORGEOUS…I so want a system camera now!

Today it's 9/11

When I woke up this morning it really didn’t occur to me of what day it is. The one and only thing that actually occurred to me was basically: Thank God it’s Friday! Haha...It wasn’t until early noon that I became aware of the fact that it’s 9/11. Exactly eight years ago, World Trade Center that “you must see before you die” was gone. Gone forever, just like that.

I have heard that they are building a new tower where the old ones were located. It will be called One World Trade Center and according to Metro news, it will be higher than the old ones. But that shouldn’t be a surprise, since it’s USA we’re speaking of. The bigger, the better! Nevertheless, it will never be the same; that means that I have forever lost the opportunity to see one of those “you must see before you die” buildings...It’s kind of sad when I think about it, but at the same time - there’s so much more out there. So much more that I personally want to see and experience. And right now my no.1 future goal is not to see Petronas Twin Towers in Malaysia, (because that I have already done many times) however, it is to actually go up there. And by now, I know pretty clearly from déjà vu incidents that Mondays are not the days to do that on...

Petronas Twin Towers in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Gorgeous right? ;)

Exhausted - in a good way ;)

What an effective day. I feel kind of proud for having been able to do so many things in less than 24 hours. But on the other hand, I feel kind of exhausted as well. However, it's the feel-good exhaustion and that's what really matters.

When sis and I was in town earlier , I found today's best quote in this cute store Myrra...(note: the middle one). Haha...

The afternoon to late evening was spent at IKEA, where I haven't been to in...a very long time...

You can't go to IKEA and not crash into one of their couches for a minute or two...;D

Then it was dinner time before with some chocolate mousse for dessert. I wonder if the food can get more Swedish than potatoes, meatballs, brown sauce and lingonberry jam? But I simply couldn't resist their meatballs. I love IKEA's meatballs!

Since they have rebuilt the whole thing right before summer, the restaurant is nowadays pretty large and fresh.

We were there around 3 hours before we realized that we really should get home. After all, we haven't been there in quite some time so it was only reasonable to stay that long...haha...Okay, now I am off to bed before I fall asleep here. Nights!

Bright Thursday

This Thursday is looking quite bright from my point of view. I woke up pretty content knowing that I scored a 7 (which is the highest score in the IB) on my economics quiz, and also by knowing the fact that Sweden won against Malta in the World Championship qualification yesterday. It was a “pretty” (note: very) lame game, where we only managed to score 1-0 with the help of a own goal...but at least we won, okay!

However, I will be expecting a fun day ahead of me. I have only one lesson before I’ll meet up sis in town for some errands to run. Then I will have progress talks with my mentor Fredrik who has now came back from his holiday in Greece (envious -.-), and then I am off to the Swedes favourite place (besides Thailand) - IKEA.

Will be back with an update later tonight. Hope you all have a nice day - I know I will!

A nice hot shower...;)

If nothing kept me from it, I would be able to stay in the shower for a week. Hot water combined with fruity and flowery smells is almost as good as it can get. I remember when I was little, though. That every time it was time for me to take my daily bath I would lie down on the floor and say that I would do it later, because I needed some rest first. Then it would be dinner that rescued me, haha. However, in the end I would always take my shower and afterwards I felt so much better and full of energy. I don’t understand why you sometimes have so hard doing something when all you receive afterwards is the feel-good feeling...

Nevertheless, I found some horrible bruises on my thighs (implying that I have been physically abused...Haha, just kidding!) as a result of walking in to too many tables and chairs during these past few days. I really have to stop doing that. Thank God we’re going toward darker times here in Sweden, otherwise I would have to cover them up with concealer or something...It’s kind of typical to be honest. Now when my mosquito bites from summer are almost gone, new ugly marks have to show up -.-

Anyhow, have to go back to maths and those stupid statistics that we’re doing now. I am (a bit) behind...

Sandra goes baggy

I love girlylicious things like baby doll dresses and pastel colors à la old cottage in Great Britain. But on the other hand, you can’t always be the cute girlish-girl if you’re me, haha. Some days there’s no pink (visible) on me, and people can get very shocked, but please don’t. Because occasionally I go baggy and that’s the way it is with me.

So typical...

It’s just so typical. Yesterday when my mami was reading the newspaper, she saw that the Swedish krona has gone up, and that now RM 1 = SEK 1.91 only. When we were there three weeks ago, the currency of RM 1 was over SEK 2.3!!! Some days, it even went up to SEK 2.4-2.5...So that means that I could saved so much money if I would have bought everything yesterday. But obviously, I didn’t. Very annoying.

Now I have to save every cent (or öre as they say here in Sweden) I have, so that I can go crazy on November 14...Why? Because that is the day when H&M’s co-operation with Jimmy Choo is launched in stores! ;D

The shoes are seriously to die for...Look at those killer heels!

Movie time!!!

When Heath Ledger was still with us...

Finally Friday! Actually I haven't got that much time blogging now since Brokeback Mountain begins in a couple of minutes. I have always wanted to see that movie, but never really found any time to. There are too many movies out there these days! Anyway, we'll see later how its eight Oscars (!!!) were given for the right reasons, because sometimes movies that literally suck (e.g. Lost in Translation) still get Oscars! Ooops, better go now...

Have a lovely Friday evening!

Stupid Excel

It was so worthless going to school today. All my lessons (which are two on Thursdays) were cancelled, so I would have been free today if it wasn’t for that stupid 2 hours info meeting about how to use Excel - which started at 3.15 p.m.! I am done with physics, and I will never go back to it unless it’s a matter between life and death which forces me, so I don’t understand why it had to be mandatory…If it wasn’t because of that, I really wouldn’t have showed up. See what a good student I am! Haha…

Cute Shilan, before we almost fell asleep...

The new sweetie Bianca (imported directly from Brazil!) and Hanna.

Lewar going crazy when the computer system messed up and left us stuck in the computer room for a while...

So Shilan and I had to make the most out of it (?)

Today's dessert - YUMMO!

I was slightly shocked

Dolly Parton sings “working nine to five…lalala”, my own version of today is “working 8.30 to 4.30...lalala”. Maybe not as good (not good at all actually, haha) as hers, but it’s the truth, and sometimes the truth isn’t always that good. Anyway, I felt rather good today when I got back the math quiz we had this Monday ;D

Then, when I got home from my “rough day” I walked right in to an enormous mountain of chanterelles and in front of it I found my sis completely engaged in cleaning chanterelles. In short, I was a bit shocked. My sister, who loves shopping, interior design, high-tea, to get royal treatment (but really, who doesn’t? Haha) and to sleep was getting her well treated-nails into a pile of chanterelles! Yeah, so this was today’s small shock moment, haha…

8 years

8 years has passed since my grandmother left this world. I was nine at that time, now I am seventeen. Time sure flies. I haven't got much to add today besides that.
